As fighting continues to plague eastern Ukraine, fear of being caught in crossfire,
subjected to physical harm or persecution, and of life with no future, has forced
hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.
The number of internally displaced, registered people has already reached over one million, as officially reported on February, 14, 2015 by IDMC, (the unofficial number that includes unregistered refugees is estimated as 1,400,000), and this number is increasing rapidly.
Most of these people face bitter winter without proper shelters, basic accommodations and supplies, warm clothing, enough food and medicine. They have no place to live, to sleep, to eat and to get any medical help.As usual, children and elderly are the most vulnerable and suffer the greatest. It is a true, full-scale humanitarian crisis of great and tragic magnitude.
